Meet Apopse: The Shadow of the House (and Occasional Apopalypse)
Warning: This blog post contains tales of our resident feline phantom! Meet Apopse, our beautiful all-black domestic shorthair who brings a completely different kind of chaos to the household.

If Tilly is our loud and proud mastermind, Apopse is the stealthy shadow of the house. She is incredibly flighty, yet somehow also the walking definition of "curiosity killed the cat." There is virtually nowhere in this house she hasn't managed to explore. From somehow sneaking into the loft to getting herself under the upstairs floorboards, Apopse seems to view every sealed-off space as a personal invitation to investigate.
And while she might be stealthy, she is certainly not graceful. We affectionately nicknamed her the "Apopalypse" because she has almost zero coordination or spatial awareness. She doesn't even have to try to cause destruction; she simply walks past things and they inevitably end up on the floor. If she's not inadvertently breaking things with her hips, she's usually weaving right around my feet, doing her absolute best to trip me up as I walk through the room.

Then there are her naptime habits. Apopse doesn't just sleep; she dreams out loud, frequently letting out the sweetest little meows while completely fast asleep.
When it comes to affection, Apopse definitely operates on her own terms. She isn't particularly fond of being scooped up or petted just because you feel like it. However, if you're settled into bed or relaxing on the sofa, she will suddenly decide it's snuggle time and become the most affectionate companion. Earning a cuddle from her feels like a prize because it means you've been specially chosen for that moment.

This little Apopalypse might be a clumsy shadow, constantly plotting her next adventure under the floorboards, but she is a perfect fit for our family. Just remember to watch your step, double-check that the loft is closed, and wait patiently for her to decide it's snuggle time!
