KT's A.R.C
Welcome to the A.R.C
KT’s A.R.C. is the living journal of a multi-species household. What began as a personal journey to conquer arachnophobia has evolved into a dedicated passion for modern husbandry and reptile rescue.
From the “creepy” to the cuddly, this site documents the reality of keeping over 60 animals thriving under one roof. Whether you are here for the care guides, the enclosure builds, or the rescue stories—welcome to the family
Hi, I'm Katie. What started as a personal mission to conquer severe arachnophobia has spiraled into a multi-species passion project, now encompassing over 60 resident arachnids, reptiles, cats as well as a few other invertebrates.
I am notoriously camera-shy, which is why I'm using a bit of AI magic for my portrait here! But I couldn't ask for a better representation of the house: it perfectly captures Tilly the calico keeping me grounded, Cassiopeia the ball python around my shoulders and Dagda the tarantula showing off his bright orange knees.
I promise the thousands of photos of the animals on this site more than make up for my absence behind the lens. My daily focus is on advocating for high-welfare modern husbandry, building bio-active environments, and giving misunderstood rescues a second chance to thrive.
Meet the Keeper
Raising the Standards of Care
At the A.R.C., we believe every animal—whether scaly, eight-legged, or furry—deserves an environment that allows them to express their natural behaviours. We focus on modern, high-welfare keeping that goes far beyond the bare minimum.
Environmental Enrichment: From custom 3D-printed climbing structures and bio-active terrariums to dedicated feline shelves, every enclosure and room is designed to maximize physical and mental stimulation.
Advanced Safety & Climate: Habitats are equipped with secondary Wi-Fi-controlled thermostats, providing live temperature monitoring and instant mobile alerts to ensure complete safety and optimal conditions.
Tailored Nutrition: Every resident receives strictly monitored, species-specific diets—from supplement-dusted feeding schedules for the insectivores to carefully managed nutrition and structured play for the feline supervisors.
